Impact Model
Role models are people who others imitate, emulate or look to for guidance. There are good models who inspire greatness in others, and models that are so bad called "bad influences." There are even anti-patterns, linked by the media as "bad girls" or "bad guys" that serve as good examples of what NOT to do if you want to become a successful, respected person.
All parents want their children to have positive role models who have the characteristics inspire them to want to be (and be) its very best. While there is some variation in the definition of all the parents what it means to be a good person, the following 7 features are held constant.
The positive role models;
(1) Election of positive model-making: small eyes see and ears are listening recently. When it comes to being a role model, you must be aware that the choices you make not only you but also impact the children who regard you as their superhero. Someday, will be in the same situation and think: "What s / s to do when he / she was in the same situation?" As a model, you can not just "talk the talk" and tell others to make good decisions. You must put them into action yourself.
(2) Think aloud: When you have a difficult choice to make, allowing children to see how to work with the problem, weigh the pros and cons, and arriving at a decision. The process of making good decisions is a skill. A good role model not only show a child who is the best decision, but also how they reached that conclusion. Thus, the child will be able to follow the reasoning that when in a similar situation.
(3) Apologize and admit the mistakes: Nobody's perfect. When you make a bad choice, that they are seeing and learning from you know you've made a mistake and how you will correct it. This help understand that (a) all make mistakes, (b) is not the end of the world, (c) you can do the right thing, and (d) it is necessary to take care and be responsible right away. On request apologize, admit his mistake, and repair the damage, he demonstrates an important but often overlooked part of being a role model.
(4) Monitoring by: All we want children to stick to their commitments and continue its promises. But as adults can sometimes be difficult to demonstrate compliance when we are tired, distracted, busy, or overwhelmed. To be a good model to follow, we must demonstrate stick to perseverance. That means: (a) time, (b) terminate What began, (c) not to quit, (d) keep his word, and (e) continue, even if things get rough. When role models continue their objectives, it teaches children that can be done and help them adopt an "if s / he can do it, I can do" attitude.
(5) Show respect: You can be driven, successful and intelligent, but if you choose to show respect or not speaks volumes about the kind of attitude it takes to succeed in life. We always tell children to "treat others as we want to be treated" and yet, you can not subscribe to the axiom ourselves. Do you step others to get ahead? Do you take people for granted? Do you show gratitude for others? Often the little things that make that make the biggest difference in the way in which children perceive how to succeed in business and relationships.
(6) Be well rounded: While we do not want to spread ourselves too thin, it is important show children that may be more than one. Excellent models are not only the "parents" or "teachers". They challenge students and themselves out of their comfort zone. You can be a parent who is also a student of martial arts, a great chef and a treasured friend. It is possible that a mother who is a talented dancer and a curious photographer. When children see things that their models can be many, they learn that they do not need to pigeon-hole themselves to succeed.
(7) Demonstrate confidence in who you are: Whatever you choose to do with your life, be proud of the person you've become. May have been a way long, but it is the responsibility of a role model to commemorate the lessons learned, gained strength and developed the character. Certainly, we can always improve, however, children need to see that their models do not suspend your confidence to achieve "victory," or "lose 5 kilos more." We must continue as they strive to be happy with how far we've come at the same time.
While it may seem like a lot of pressure to be positive role models, no one is waiting to be superhuman. Indeed, no one would expect that the behavior of children who are looking to us for we want guidancenor expect impeccable standard of conduct it themselves. You can only do your best. And if you go today, you can always refer to tip # 3 and try again tomorrow. Good models earn multiple chances of children who believe in them.
