 Have men really walked on the moon? Recently I have done a ton of research. Why does NASA have so few pictures of the moon walks? How could they really misplace and lose the greatest footage of modern film? Flag, shadow, and other conspiracy theories and that famous mockumentary aside -- where are all the pictures? And how come the astronauts "can't" remember if they saw stars? What is that about? NASA has so few photos of the actual moonwalk it is ridiculous. If the astronauts really traveled through the radiation belts, how come they didn't take their rings off? Wouldn't radiation conduct and bury itself in jewelry? How come the power cords to the rover don't hover in low gravity? I am really not looking for conpiracy theories, just facts. 1) Twelve 12 American astronauts have walked on the moon. Apollo 11: Neil Armstrong & Buzz Aldrin 2) Why haven't we been back? a) American astronauts visited the moon on six occasions. b) The "moon race" was an extension of the cold war. It was mostly about national prestige. We got there first and achieved our primary objective. There was some good science: surveys, measurements, sample collection. But it was mostly about being there first. Once we achieved our primary objective, there was no political will to go back. There still isn't. Perhaps, if we discover He3 or something else valuable, there will be. c) I used to travel to Crested Butte, Colorado every year to ski. Because I don't go anymore, does it mean that I never went? 3) What about the Van Allen radiation belts? Wouldn't it have killed the astronauts? The existence of the Van Allen radiation belts postulated in the 1940s by Nicholas Christofilos. Their existence was confirmed in *1958* by the Explorer I satellite launched by the USA. The radiation in the Van Allen radiation belts is not particularly strong. You would have to hang out there for a week or so in order to get radiation sickness. And, because the radiation is not particularly strong, a few millimeters of metal is all that is required for protection. "An object satellite shielded by 3 mm of aluminum will receive about 2500 rem (25 Sv) per *year*." "In practice, Apollo astronauts who travelled to the moon spent very little time in the belts and received a harmless dose. [6]. Nevertheless NASA deliberately timed Apollo launches, and used lunar transfer orbits that only skirted the edge of the belt over the equator to minimise the radiation." When the astronauts returned to Earth, their dosimeters showed that they had received about as much radiation as a couple of medical X-rays. 4) The U.S. government scammed everyone? In 1972, there was a politically motivated burglary of a hotel room in the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. There were only about six or eight people who knew about it. However, those people, including Richard M. Nixon, the President of the United States, failed to keep that burglary a secret. It exploded into a scandal that drove the President and a number of others from office. If six or eight people couldn't keep a hotel room burglary a secret, then how could literally thousands of people could have kept their mouths shut about six faked moon landings? Not just one moon landing, but six of them! 5) What about the USSR? Even if NASA and other government agencies could have faked the six moon landings well enough to fool the general public, they could NOT have fooled the space agency or military intelligence types in the USSR. The Soviets were just dying to beat us. If the landings were faked, the Soviets would have re-engineered their N-1 booster and landed on the moon just to prove what liars Americans are. Why didn't they? Because the landings were real and the Soviets knew it. 6) Why does the flag shake? Where are the stars? Who took the video of Neil Armstrong? Get Your Wonderful Planet 51 Toys Present - Chuck the Cosmonaut
Planet 51 is a must see for all boys and girls and adults alike. Planet 51 is still now being shown in the theatres and if you have a chance to go see this hilarious movie you really should go see. The movie has the actors Dwayne Johnson formerly known as The Rock, Justin Long and Jessica Biel. This all star bunch of actors adds character to the Planet 51 movie and makes it even more humorous to view.
The Planet 51 movie opens like some of the old 1950 's science fiction films. You see the Martians chasing the Planet 51 occupants trying to change them into zombies or slay them. When this scene starts out you might think that this is the film, but it turns out that this is a movie at the cinema. You see the residents of Planet 51 exiting the cinema and going about their normal day. We then meet Lem a awkward teenager who just found a job and is aiming to date the girl of his fantasies. You also meet his very comical pal Skiff who is indeed very hilarious and sure to make you giggle. Skiff is sure that there is Martian life out there while Lem is a little less certain.
The Planet 51 movie begins like one of the old 1950's science fiction films. You see the extraterrestrials following the occupants of Planet 51 and trying to change them into zombies or kill them. You might think that this is part of the film, but it turns out that this is a movie inside the movie. You see the residents of Planet 51 coming out of the cinema and returning to their day to day life. We then meet Lem, a struggling teenager who has just obtained a job and is attempting to date the girl of his dreams. You also meet his very comical pal Skiff who is indeed very funny and is sure to make you chuckle. Skiff is certain that there is extraterrestrial life out there while Lem is a little less certain.
All things change one day, when a deafening sound is heard and tremors come from the outside. Upon peeking out, the inhabitants of Planet 51 notice a large rocket landing. When this rocket lands, an Astronaut named Chuck who is from Earth descends from the ship, humming a Space Odyssey. He is oblivious of the Martian life he is about to learn on Planet 51. When he discovers these extraterrestrials, he is immediately scared as Earth had no idea that this Planet51 was inhabited. Chuck the Astronaut becomes scared and scurries away endeavoring to hide from the aliens. The funny thing is that these Martians regard Chuck as a Martian as well since they believe that no life exists outside of their planet. The residents of Planet 51 get frightened believing that this being might make them all into Zombies. They instantly get in contact with the army. The military comes in and begins trying to locate Chuck to remove him so that he does not make the residents of Planet 51into zombies. Chuck scurries off and hides and remains hidden for awhile.
Chuck eventually bumps into Lem quite accidentally. They scare one another and at first Lem is wary but he then befriends Chuck and attempts to help Chuck get back to his ship. They have to avoid many road blocks and escape the soldiers. They avoid different persons and Chuck persuades two military men that they are zombies and they have to do his requests. This adds quite a few funny moments in the movie. However Chuck is eventually caught. Lem opts to bail out Chuck after some time and he and the rest of his friends, including the woman of his dreams, proceed to bail Chuck out. They at last force themselves into the building where Chuck is being held. Quite a few funny situations arise on Planet 51 as they find Chuck and rescue him from getting his brain taken out by an insane professor. When Chuck leaps up, he is naked and when his rescuers look at him they say that it is a different location for an antenna. This bit is thrown in for some grownup chuckles. Judging by the laughter and giggles in the cinema, Planet 51 is truly a laughing riot.
As the plot in the movie Planet 51 goes forward, Chuck runs away and he and his new friends finally get back to his space craft. In the process of trying to get to the space craft, Chuck goes back and saves General Grawl, who captured Chuck earlier in the movie. Chuck brings them all into outer space and allows them a grand view of their own Planet 51 from high up. General Grawl is then overwhelmed and decides that since Chuck rescued him, he is not a bad extraterrestrial after all and does not want to turn them all into zombies.
Chuck bids his farewells to the Planet 51 inhabitants and allows Rover to stay on the planet. Skiff, Lem's hilarious friend is saddened by Rover leaving and Chuck sees that Rover would be quite happy on Planet 51. Chuck bids farewell to Lem and the rest of the gang and takes off in his rocket. As the rocket climbs higher, you see one of the Martian dogs from Planet 51 inside with Chuck, and the alien dog giggling and being very content. You then see Lem and his lady living happily ever after.
This tale makes quite a wonderful motion picture about the rendezvous of Chuck with the Planet 51 habitants. Planet 51 is a fantastic family film and you can find great Planet 51 movie toys to go along with the film.
