Butterfly Body

Metamorphosis of butterflies and moths is one of the mysteries of Nature. The ability of these insects in exchange for the caterpillar crawling flying adults is almost magical. Many people are so awe inspired by the metamorphosis that they believe that butterflies and moths could never have evolved over millions of years without a God behind it.

The butterfly exists in four different ways. Some believe that we, too: The fertilized egg is planted in our mother's womb. From our day of birth are like the caterpillar which can only be eating and crawling. A death as the pupa us latent in its chrysalis. After that, our consciousness emerges from the shedding of the body, and some see this as the emergence of the butterfly. Therefore, the butterfly is a symbol of rebirth after death.

For Christians, three of the butterfly steps of metamorphosis – as caterpillar, pupa and then winged insect – are reminiscent of spiritual transformation.

Incessant scanning worm and chewing reminds us of normal earthly life where people are often quite concerned about the physical needs. The chrysalis (cocoon) resembles a and an empty tomb, may suggest the shroud vacuum left by Jesus. Therefore, a butterfly represents the resurrection into a new condition of life that is free from material concerns.

In images of the Garden of Eden, Adam's soul is symbolized by a butterfly, or drawn with butterfly wings. In paintings of Mary and her Son, the presence of the butterflies mean the care of human souls. The Gnostics is the Angel of Death, showing a winged foot stepping on a butterfly. Since the insect is so fragile that it can be torn by heavy rain, the butterfly represents human frailty, both moral and physical. Moreover, as his life is not long, is also a symbol of the ephemeral nature of physical existence. A butterfly with a broken wing is the icon of a North American charity that benefits disabled children.

When I first hatched the larva or caterpillar is very small, only a few millimeters long. These larvae first look similar, regardless of which species they belong. Normally the caterpillars immediately seek out the food and start eating, but some species overwinter in that stage. Due to the nature of the skeleton of insects can not grow in the same way we do. Occasionally the caterpillar sheds its skin so it can expand and grow to a size larger. This process is known as ecdysis and each Once that happens, the larva moves into a new stadium. Most European species moult four times, and final stage is usually the fifth instar.

Caterpillars supply for much of his time, consuming ever increasing amount of plant food as quickly. Some species prefer darkness of night to avoid unwanted attention, the comma, Polygonia c-album, spends most of his time under the leaves for the same reason. Their droppings, usually called feces, is dropped in the whole place into small pieces.

Caterpillars produce silk beside the bodies of his jaws. This is used for a variety of purposes. Give the tracks a good grip on their food plant and some use it to rest between feeding sessions. When a caterpillar is completely developed it takes time to wander in search of a suitable pupation site. This stage is sometimes known as pre-pupae. The larva is left clear all your system dung before pupation.

Pupa different families in different ways. A nymphal (left) spins a silk and hangs upside down using their claspers anal control. A Piero (right), but spins a then joins with the head up, turning a silk belt support. Soon after the larva has linked the change to a chrysalis begins. It is believed that a hormone that is inserted into the system to start this process. The chrysalis of the word is derived from a Greek word meaning gold, referring to the color of some nymphal pupae, while the pupa is the scientific word describing this stage of life butterflies.
