Roland Emmerich to their traditional ways of old – "My films are bigger, stronger and splashier than yours is!" And while that may be true, not that good or worthy.

Emmerich has never been able to leave their own way in making films – jothing required unless the total annihilation land. They are about sound, fury and deep anthology of short stories that mean nothing more. abused its end of days scenario is as tired as this film is long, it has nothing to say no and Sayd in Godzilla, 10,000 BC, Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow.

Disaster epics are so mid-nineties, the golden age of CGI, when computer experts found ways to exploit the land in a realistic way and paved the way for a decade-long chain of high-octane, low sense rounds of hearings. Emmerich was responsible for many – as producer or director and cpycats were abundant. A partial list of films interchangeably disaster formula includes Deep Impact, Executive Decision, Dante's Peak, Volcano, Armageddon, and The Perfect Storm – all the triumphs of the computer image.

But that was then and this is now.

These days, audiences are sophisticated and unnnshockable, far beyond that stage CGI Gee Whiz. A mobile phone can do everything but wash the dishes, so blowing up the California coast and floods in China really is no big deal.

A film successful disaster should be a fun ride, this is just the opposite. It takes itself too seriously to entertain. No comic relief and a few moments of genuine human – Despite the excellent British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor is powerfully.

Still, the film will potsful of money and inspire a new wave of created computer disaster epics. Emmerich supposedly has two more skedde disaster movie, one on a train heading to destroy New York and another about a entity from space that threaten the earth. Whatever.
