After a couple of recipes from my mother's old, metal box of the recipe. I love vintage recipes and received a wealth of them in death. These recipes are more Quick, easy, tasty and very economical. Turkey Round-Up is a simple turkey casserole, great for using leftover turkey (or chicken). With the current rise in prices supplies, ways to use remains very important for many families. Star Brownies Caramel is a recipe for a Brach's candy ad that I found on the table Mom's recipe.
Turkey Round-Up
This is another recipe from my mother makes sewing magazine. This housewife is the small magazine recipes submitted by readers. It also featured knitting and crocheting patterns. It is a small magazine very important, especially for many rural housewives.
2 cups diced cooked turkey
1 cup frozen peas, cooked
Celery 1 / 2 cup diced, cooked
1 can cream of chicken soup
Chinese Noodles
Combine all ingredients except pasta together in a bowl. Pour the mixture into a greased casserole, top with noodles and bake at 350 degrees until bubbly.
CARAMEL STAR BLONDIES
This is a recipe for an old announcement BRACHS Stars sweets. This recipe brings back happy memories for me. I grew up in a rural area outside a small town in southern Indiana. I have fond memories of going "to town" on Saturday for our weekly family shopping trip. There a small candy store on the corner of the railroad. My mother took me there where he would receive a mix of bridge for it and lets me get to Brach Chocolate Some of Stars in a white bag. What a treat it was!
14-oz Milk Maid Caramels Brach –
1 / 3 cup evaporated milk
1 box of mix yellow cake
3 / margarine, melted 4 cups
1 / 4 cup evaporated milk
1 cup chopped walnuts
Chocolate 12-oz bag Brach's All Stars
Melt caramel and 1 / 3 cup evaporated milk over medium heat. Set aside. In a separate bowl, cut Chocolate Stars. In another bowl, combine the mixture to cake, margarine, milk and nuts. Grease 9×13 pan. Spread half of dough into bottom of pan and bake at 350 degrees for six minutes. Remove pan from oven. Sprinkle Stars chopped chocolate over crust. Pour caramel mixture over the layer of stars. Spread remaining batter on top. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
